computer crash recovery?

My Windows XP computer crashed - to the point wher it will not even boot to safe mode. Any suggestions? As in most cases, I do have alot of files I want to keep if at all possible...

Take the harddrive out and put into another computer to recover the data, then you can do a complete system reinstall.

You can try booting to a CD and recovering any files. You might wish to get a program like PC-doctor. That may help.
