chili supper and fun fair. Our school does it annually makes about $5000. Sometimes you can get businesses to donate prizes for raffles or even the chili bricks to make the chili with. Also have done the 5 minute fundraiser where instead of selling stuff to people they can make a donation and 100% of all money raised stays in the school vs losing 48% to the distributor of the stuff you sell.

Have a read-a-thon. Students get people to sponsor them for reading books, such as 5 cents a book that they read. Then, the students list all of the books they read during an allotted time period and collect the money. It's a good way to raise money and to get students reading more.

I can understand the aversion to wet sponges but ideas involving teachers can be very popular. We have:
- beating the teacher at a sporting event eg teacher as goalie, bowl out the teacher
- teachers' pantomime or show - charge 50p for entry - teachers can use scripts and minimal rehearsal as long as they really ham it up
- teachers v pupils "Gladiators"
- take photos of teachers and stick them on old plates, then get people to throw things at them - same effect but no soggy teachers!
- teachers v parents football match etc - charge to watch or for sponsorship
Good luck!

Make up a quiz sheet with 20 cryptic clues or sayings relating to one topic;eg; musicals, animals, films.
Print them off and sell them for a pound each, with the winner drawn at random receiving a prize.
Little outlay and lots of revenue.

Try renting a badge making machine and sell badges to order, we did that last year and raised loads of money! Your local council may rent them out.. that's where we got ours for a very small fee for the week!

My son's school raised money by selling Pampered Chef. One of the mom's was a representative, the school earned quite a bit of money. Most everyone loves Pampered Chef and people can actually really use what they buy.
