why has this never been developed further - we're now in the third series?

that was the episode which started with Hurleys dream. Hugo was dreaming that Jin spoke fluent english.
Just saw the latest lost last night. it's getting so good!!!!

It showed Jin speaking English in Hurley's dream, he wasn't actually speaking English, Hurley was having a dream and in it, Jin spoke fluent English!

If you remember the actual episode where that took place and not the trailer, it was when Hurley was losing his mind. He as seeing and hearing things that were not there. Jin speaking English was part of Hurley's imagination.

yep as Loving Life says - it was all a ruse. Jin spoke english in Hurley's dream in one of the early 2nd series episodes.

The sequence you talking about comes from Hurley's dream sequence in "Everybody Hates Hugo". Hurley dreams it and it doesn't really happen. And he wasn't really speaking English - Hurley was speaking Korean.

thats teh thing with Lost they sure do know how to keep you lost hehehehehe its also like the first series that ended with those brazzilian guys on a boat I think it was and you have never seen them againit will all happen later in the show Im sure and he is learning english now so I guess that will come much later or maybe he can and pretends he can't like his wife did ooooohhhhh we will have to wait and see I love the show its the best thing to ever hit tv and I wish it never had to end enoy :)

because he was in herleys dream it was not really happening.
