Can America, or Britain for that matter, afford to have the terrorists from Iran that are currently being held back out in the world blowing up things and killing innocent people up. I believe the general rule is to not negotiate with terrorists. Any government that acts the way the Iranian govt is acting should be considered a terroristic government.

No, and it should not be mentioned.
As of now, the British Royal Navy released GPS coordinates that placed the Marines and Sailors well within Iraqi waters. In addition, the Iranians supplied the RN with coordinates that agreed with the RN's; until the RN pointed out that it meant the soldiers were in Iraqi waters. Then, the Iranians changed the coords to say that the Brits were in Iranian waters.
This will end soon, and end with the safe return of the British troops. If I am wrong, then it looks like we may have another military action on our hands.

We can pay $20 a gallon of gas before we kiss the butt of nutjobs like the ones running Iran. A lot easier than Iran can eat their oil wells, especially if we get po'd and light 'em up. PS The people Iran wants badly are not the trained monkeys who were captured in Iraq, they want the defected Iranian military leaders to be turned over to them. Not gonna happen.

No, absolutely not. Even though we secretly negotiate with terrorist all the time (Rumsfeld was doing it with factions in Iraq almost from the beginning), giving up those prisoners would just cause more groups to take aggressions out against American. Besides, Iran has British people, not American.

America can afford it better than Europe can even though most of Europeans are riding in little tin cans with out pollution control ( the Lada as example). Maybe Iran would release them if all of you converted to Islam. You may as well do it now because its going to happen.

America doesn't have hostages. It has detainees, prisoners, POWs, but not hostages. US policy is not to bargain on these matters. I'm sure the Brits can take care of their own.

I don't think the US should allow terrorists to think that by kidnapping Westerners they will be able to negotiate...it would set a bad precendent that I think would give radicals the impetus to do that more often. Such a "swap" would almost be as bad, to me, as attacking a country in a "pre-emptive" fashion (which the US did for the first time in its History when we invaded Iraq...VERY dumb thing to do, in my book.).

No we should never give in to terrorist threats or acts.
yes we can afford gas/oil at that price. Or better yet, maybe we would start using less oil!
