They were a great generation when they were young. But you are right. When they got older they became the very things which they rebeled against.

Hold it there, Sparky. I am one of those who grew up in the 60's and for your information only a small percentage of us were hippies, spoiled or anything of the sort. We were probably will into middle age before you were even a gleem in your daddy's eye. You are judging a whole generation of people based on a few who happen to stand out. Just like the kids I see today with the crotch of their pants down to their knees. Is this generation all like those kids? I really don't think so but they are the ones who get noticed. That is what they want, to be noticed. They don't reflect the majority of teens today. You need to do more research, Sparky, before you giving your opinion about anything. Perhaps the old saying that best fits you is this -- It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Peace

You have a point there, but for wasteful, money driven, self- absorbed people I can only see the yuppie gen Xers. At least the hippies would share with each other.
BTW, in the 60's I was considered to be so far left as to be beyond radical. I have not changed, but now I'm a "right-wing nut"???? Just _who_ was it that moved, anyway?

Nope.
It may apply to afew, but every generation has that.
Selfish? sure. But they did great social work!
The overcame the facist fifities.
The Middle ager boombers on the Right dont even have the actual honesty the young Left had in the 60s.

Considering that Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, Coulter, O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, Rice and all the other useless barking right-wing moonbats are from that generation, you may be onto something.

All the dirty hippies grew up and now they are old and make laws that take away the freedoms they protested for.

It's not fair to blame the entire generation for a couple of idiots. You get liberals in every generation, no matter who lived in it. Sometimes you just have to deal with them.
