3/4 weeks large for dates?

hey there all.
just a question tell me what ya guys think.
i saw my midwife yesterday now buy my last period date i would be 27.1wks pregnant 2day, however i had a very early scan at 5.1wks that showed nothing but a abnormal genistation sack. i decided i didnt want any more scans as they make me fell uneasey and just cause stress whick isnt good for me or baby.
any way my question 2 you guys is what do you think it means if (midwife dates 27wks) (scan dates 26wks) but my tummy yesterday was measuring at 30 weeks genistation?? give me some ideas and has this been the case 4 n e one else with both my other pregnancys i was iether under a lil or right at the stage i was ment. i cant be any further on as i lost a baby at 20weeks the month before i got pregnant with this baby :)

First of all I'm sorry to hear about your previous loss, I'm sure it's making you uneasy with pregnancy. Ultrasounds are most reliable for dating purposes prior to 10-11 weeks. After that here is so much variation that dating isn't reliable. At 27 weeks there is so much variation that the dating is almost meaningless. As for measuring fundal height - which is when they measure you it also can be unreliable. If you carry extra abdominal fat or if this is a subsequent pregnancy you can be large for your dates.

Easier said than done but calm down. If there was something structually wrong w/your baby I'm sure the midwife would have told you during your scan.

at one point in my first pregnancy i measured 4 weeks further along. right now, i'm measuring 2 weeks further. my doctor says it's because i have a lot of amniotic fluid.

WELL IT REALLY ISN'T THAT ABNORMAL TO MEASURE BIG ESPECIALLY IF THIS IS NOT YOUR FIRST BABY. IF YOU ARE FOR SURE OF YOUR LAST PERIOD I WOULD SAY YOU ARE 27 WEEKS.
