does anyone know if you can hook your computer up to your stereo so that you can download music on your computer and listen to it on your stereo. and also, will i have to have something else to connect them together? thanks

Yes you can. I've done this myself and it sounds great!
All you need is a 1/8" stereo male plug to 2 male RCA's. Write this down and take it to your local electronics shop and tell them you want it in a 6', 12' or whatever length cable. They'll hook you up. It's about $5! Radio Shack or Best Buy have them for sure.
The cable goes from your Line Out on your computer (or speaker out is okay as well). The RCA ends go to your auxiliary input or any unused input on your stereo receiver.

yes, you do need a specified cable to connect the stereo to your computer...you just need to know what type of cable you need.
