one of your computer should act as a server to share internet access to other computers.

1. server system should have 2 network cards
2. connect the rj45 (network) cable comming from modem to one of the network card on the server, configure the ipaddress on this network card. the ip address will be provided by bnsl
3. if the cable not rj45 if it is rj11(telephone) cable you have to configure dailup connection for that u take help from the customer care centre.
4 connect another rj 45 cable from other networkcard to hub
5 connect the other 2 systems through hub
6. you have to share the internet connection after this. it depends on the connection type u r using rj45 or rj11.

it is a leangty process for 1st time users so i suggest you to call a hardware guy to do this configuration for first time pl. note down the procedure, so that u need not to struggle in future.

Follow Bjoun's advice it is accurate. But a hub will not work. The minimum you require is a Switch. A router will be excellent.
If you can replace the BSNL Modem with 4 ports Router (Modem) it will solve all your problems in one go. I will tell you how to setup the LAN Network in 5 minutes.

With windows XP, really all you need to do is connect all the computers to the hub. Connect the hub to the modem. (That is, assuming by "Hub" you mean "Router". If it is a hub, this won't work to get internet.)

From there, you just run the "create new connection" wizard under the "network" icon in your control panel.

This will do all that work for you.

you need a router and not a hub...
assuming all your computers are wired,
connected the modem to the wan port of the router and the 3 computers to the lan ports - check the corresponding lights on the router...
run the router setup cd on a computer while it is plugged in..
make sure all the NIC (ethernet) cards on the computers have been enabled, are working (try pinging the loopback-127.0.0.1) and all the ethernet interfaces are set to obtain ip and dns automatically...

just buy mini switch up to 8 port you can find it very easily.
connect your modem cable to switch. and connect your three PC with switch.
don't use hub because it share bandwidth then it will make your system slow. switch give full bandwidth to each PC.
