I think that they really didn't want to waste their time giving him any advice or criticism....they are just probably at a loss of words...Simon said it best when he said Sanjaya is in his own little world....
I personally hope he gets voted off, but I think America is just trying to keep him for the shock value...

Sanjaya is obviously a no talent. That said, I think Simon has given up. He's even said that if Sanjaya wins this contest that he's quitting. Sanjaya's fan base is alot of teenie bopper girls who cry over him, as witnessed last week on Idol. But there are also a group of people who listen to Howard Stern who are determined to vote for anyone the producers want off the show. Those are the people voting for him. It's obvious that America wants no talents in the music biz and they seem to want that same thing in the White House. It's called the dumbing down of America and it's happening all across the board from Politics to the Entertainment biz to our education system. Welcome to the brave new world of sinking below the level of mediocrity.

I think they don't want to give everyone "Vot(ing) for the Worst" any more encouragement. The whole point of voting for Sanjaya is to make the show more entertaining, watching him try to "perform" every week and watching the judges getting more and more annoyed. So the judges are probably playing it low-key on purpose.
And BTW, "American Idol" was ALREADY part of the "dumbing down" of America. VFTW is a protest against it, by screwing with it.

He's not going home, not because he's a great performer or that America loves him, its because of the fact that he is so awful that people keep voting for him (thank you Howard). And what's the point in scolding him for singing bad....no matter what the judges say he is going to stay, pony-hawk and all. If he actually wins, do you think that would be the end to American Idol as a legitimate voter based "talent" show?

I caught that last night as well. Simon and the others know hairboy is still around b/c of those web sites asking people to vote for the worse. It's not fair to the other hope fulls to have him still on the show. A will be happy to see him go.

I think the show is picking favorites. We all know American Idol is rigged. Why else would you get a busy signal after trying to reach the polls on who you think is the best singer for 2 hours? American Idol is notorious for doing that.
Besides, I think Sanjaya misses his sister. He sounded excellent when she was there with him.

I totally agree with you. I also noticed he forgot words. Sometime I wish we could vote for the worst and not our favorites. I have not voted for Sanjaya and probably never will. Everyone else is better than him.

i think its more of a joke that people vote for him. Simon and the others have basically said hes no good, and should be eliminated, but every week he makes, so yes simon and the other judges have given up.. it doesnt matter what they say, he will still get votes.

I think they are trying not to bring to much attention to Sanjaya by criticizing him because he will get sympathy votes and end up staying on.
They may try to ignore his horrible performance and hope he will go away...

When contenstants forget words, if they can adapt and "Make it seem" as if they didn't forget words, judges will give praises on it. Now i don't like sanjaya so i agree with you on that point.
