I did once. I was with a group of friends. We picked him up because he looked clean and we were young and stupid and figured his car broke down somewhere or something.

After he got in the car he started telling us about how he'd invented a flyng car and the government had a big conspiracy to cover it up and had killed his family and they were after him. My sister asked where he was from originally and he had a cow and started screaming that we were in on the conspiracy and practically jumped out of the car, so my friend that was driving slammed the brakes on and let him out never to be heard from again.

i live on a military base, so any hitchhikers are soldiers without vehicles trying to get to the grocery store.. i often wish i could give them a lift, but i have a very small truck with one very small bench seat, and there is a carseat in there.. so theres no room

Back in the day, when it was STILL safe to do so. My dad use to, if we were driving up to Cambridge from London. Young teens mostley heading back up to the local college,you can't do that any more. Up to the late 70's we did, Way to risky these days.....

II and my friends used to in the days when such was not a life-threatening event. Today there is no way in hell I would, no matter what the circumstances.

Once for about 2 minutes. They guy stunk like urine and b.o so bad I had to drop him off right away!
