Obviously there is no reason for the moons, or any moons or Planets, life was an accident which started billions of years after the solar system was formed 13 billion years ago. In a few million years all life on this planet will cease to exist, the death of our Sun will be the cause, but human life will be long gone by then.

There is no purpose, religious considerations aside, in the creation of planets, satellites or other celestial bodies. The moons circling Jupiter were created by the same forces that gave birth to that planet, as well as others including Earth.

What makes you think it has any purpose? What's the purpose of Jupiter? Or the Andromeda Galaxy? Purpose is a notion humans apply to make sense of things, but it doesn't exist in its own right.

There is no purpose, silly! ;] Jupiter just has so much gravity it keeps pulling in more objects for moons.
