They do that here in the states even before they leave their driveway. Once they get going, they will also: reload their guns, read the ENTIRE paper, give themselves a pedicure, send or receive a fax, pick their nose, apply make-up, read a novel, etc. etc.

Wow, that is much less than people here do whilst driving. I think if you had added reading a book and putting on makeup you'd be ready for our roadways!
People used to actually get indignant when I would pull them over for having map spread out on the steering while whilst driving.. A continuing coincidence, or natural selection trying to thin the herd of its stupidest members? You be the judge.

We know a woman who always has her rear view mirror focused on herself rather than through the back window, so she can do her hair as she is driving - always in the fast lane - very slowly.

When men blow their hooter at her she thinks they are trying to get off with her!

This morning I saw a chick putting on mascara while driving faster than my 65mph. At least she had an earpiece on.
I shudder to think...

While on the road in my b/f 's big rig we also saw people reading books, texting, writing memos, using their laptops and putting on pants...all while driving.
