1Athena...
2. The symbolic thing is that everyone claims that Odysseus is dead, but later Telemachus meets his father that is disguised as a beggar.
3 He uses the Trojan Horse, in hopes of getting inside the gates of Troy, since it was nearly impossible. Then one of the Kings suitors came out and claimed one of Odysseus' men were lying, but Posiden got one a sea monster to take the suitor, making it seem that Posiden was angry at him for lying...
4 That he would be damned, his men would die, and he would return home weary, and under a strange sail.
5 Hm...well the original epic poem is so long that if the diresctor were to add them into it then it would be way too long, and i think that the director is emphasizing the finer points of the epic. Even our literature book doesnt have the complete epic in it.
6 Hm..well...I think it was emotional and a bit cheesy...the whole 'I don't believe your my father' thing, and then the big speech about how he (Odysseus) buit the kingdom with his bare hands just screams, 'I built this place dammit! I am your father.' If you ask me... it seems like the whole 'Luke I am your father' thing in star wars...
7 Calypso offers him a place to stay, and food. This is tempting because she makes it seem like his wife Penelope has already remarried, so he stays for a bit, but then his wife's promise comes back to him..... Yes the weakness was shown when he was on the island with Circe..she seduced him just like Calypso did...

There hope that answers ur question!

1. Athena
3. Odysseus plans to build a giant wooden horse called the Trojan Horse as a "gift" to the Trojans; to symbolize the Myceneans gave up. The rest of the Mycenean fleet sailed off, only to return after dark. The best men hid inside the horse. One man tried (laocoon) to convince the Trojan king it was a trick, but Poiseden helped by sending his sea serphant to kill Laocoon. Without Poisedon's help, the Trojans would have burnt it or checked inside it or even left it out there instead of just wheeling it in.
5. Well, I think it is still a great story. :-D
6. At first, Telamachus thinks Odysseus is a fake, but once he realizes Odysseus is actually the real Odysseus, they hug and it is a very emotional moment. Odysseus THEN disguises as a beggar.
7. Calypso offers him food, water, and shelter. It is temting to him because he was shipwrecked and lost all of his men. No, the weakness was not shown before. (as far as i know)

1. Athena
3. The Trojan Horse (look it up). And I don't think it was Poseidon who sent the snakes from the sea to kill Laocoon, who trie to prevent the Trojans, but Thetis, Achille's mother.
5. I have not seen the specific film, but the director probably wanted to save time. You must judge if the story still remains powerful.
6. Odysseus meets his son disguised as a beggar, and the son doesn't recognise him. It is hard for Odysseus to keep his identity hidden, while he wants to hug his son.
7. Calypso offers Odysseus immortality, but he refuses. He prefers to leave her island.

sorry yet i will basically answer the only as to why Odysseus ought to no longer refuse the grant to bypass to conflict. that reason is that the country that asked him replaced into the main powerful usa at that factor. if Odysseus refused then conflict could of been raged on his usa.
