We must have gone to each other's interview. They asked me the same question. Turned out I wound up at the interview for the janitor at Taco Bell. I was supposed to have been at the interview for CFO at the Waldorf.

I think you went to the right interview but the boss is just probably being funny or sarcastic. But he is definitely not deep.

umm.. if the guy indterviewing me asks 'who are you?" i would tell him my name.. he probably has lots of people to interview and may have a copy of everyones resume on hand.. he probably just wanted to know which paper to grab.. and if you went on and on with a deep definition of yourself, you are probably not gonna get the job.. good luck anyway..

i'd wonder why they were interviewing me if they didn't know me
that'd be rude for a reporter to do that

My usual answer is; I'm the guy that makes your Lady smile. After all, if they're like that, why would I want to work there anyway?

think the interviewer hasn't got it together and is wondering
if he/she is holding the right application.

I think it's nearly as bad as "Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?"
