He went from one extreme to the other and back, with very little time to acclimate. I'd say you probably killed him. Or at least you should do the right thing now.

Switch off the lights or cover the tank if the room is light and let him recover! Doing anything else will stress him out even more and probably kill him for certain! He may recover and if he does then keep a close watch on him as he'll be prone to diseases caused by the stress! You need to learn more about fish-keeping as removing a fish from a tank and replacing all the water is NOT how you should maintain a healthy enviroment! Try googling tropical fish-keeping where you will find a long list of sites with all the information needed!

Was the water from the tap or from the tank? Chances are if the water was from the tap it was highly chlorinated, the wrong pH and the wrong temperature. Putting him in the sun didn't help I'm sure. Fish can only adjust to about 3 degrees every hour. If he makes it, you're lucky. Next time, when you do water changes, only remove 25-35% of the water with a siphon or gravel cleaner.

In a small jar in the sun the water will overheat. Also warm water holds less oxygen so without circulation he had no oxygen, either. I would get him back in his regular tank ASAP but it might be too late for him to recover.

i kno u meant well, but fish cant be put in direct sunlight.the water overheats.i hope he recovers, but if not, realise u did the best u could and u were trying to help him by changing his water.just remember with ur next fish, not to put it in direct sunlight.try a betta next time-they are very hardy.i dropped my bettas bowl on the floor by accident while changing his water, and then put him in a jar of tap water while i ran to the store for bottled water and a new bowl.another time,my pet-sitter dropped him into the sink.despite all this,he lived 3 years and died peacefully of old age.if ur fish doesnt survive, definately try a betta.

He'll be fine! Just keep his water cold enough. He probbably does'nt want to be in the sunlight after being in the hot jar. I now this isnt realated to the question but i think he would more happier if he was with other fish

You might have over heated the water by putting him in the sun. Just give him a while to readjust

yes, sorry to say, if he was belly up then theres nothing you can do for him. although he may recover. you should never leave a fish in the sun, in a glass jar, with no water circulation.
