On the one hand -- Villanova is a better school than Delaware or Drexel -- so I could see how someone wait-listed there could get into the other two schools.
But, as a Villanova grad, I am a little surprised that someone with straight As and was in the top 10% didn't get in there.
If your question here is any indication, perhaps you spelled some words wrong in your essay, and that made them think twice. It could also be related to your major. Some majors have lots of competition, while others don't. For example many people turned down by Penn's Wharton School would have no trouble geting into their Liberal Arts college.
The good news is that those on the wait list will probably get in. Villanova makes a number of offers to students who get into higher rated schools.

I think this year, Villanova, along with many other competative schools, recieved a huge number of applicants. More and more kids are applying to more schools... I have a bunch of friends who applied to 13 or 14 schools. All of these kids have stats similar to yours, so it becomes a lot harder for colleges to select students. I have a friend who's a straight-A student, really athletic, and had good recs and e.c's, and got rejected from Villanova. 10 years ago, she (and you) would have gotten in easily.

It doesn't matter where else you got in to colleges. There may have been better applicants at Villanova, or perhaps they see you as too standard. When a college gets too many of the same types of students applying, you're not likely to get in unless you've done something unique and set yourself apart. Don't get upset about it.

Every school has different standards as to what they are looking for in a student. Although your grades may be great, there are many other students out there who probably have the same grades as you but had something else that gave them an extra edge.

Probably for the same reason I was accepted to Columbia University, but got wait-listed by Lehigh. Colleges are random and strange in their admissions processes...

extra desirable than probably the husband of the ladies human beings you talked to, had a unpredicted postpone someplace alongside the way. IE: He have been given harm or ill in boot and did no longer graduate with the Platoon he entered boot with. the militia is especially sturdy at getting human beings into boot on the ideal time, to get them to AIT actual earlier thier AIT classification starts off. Holds of a few days to couple of weeks are not unpredicted, yet with a ten week carry, it had to be for different motives. Getting human beings into boot on the ideal time, to graduate in time for thier AIT, is the biggest reason for the departmentprogram. That way they gained't have those long holds earlier thier AIT starts off. i does not difficulty approximately it, the probabilities of it occurring on your husband are slender. Plus, why could he prefer to alter his MOS, purely in accordance with having to attend quite a few weeks to start AIT ? he's guidance for a job he would be doing for years, whats quite a few weeks in the long view of issues ?
