I used a bjorn when the baby was under a year and loved it. For age 1-2 tried the Over the Shoulder Baby Holder sling, to use on a hip, and never really got the hang of it, it was too bulky and warm for summer, wish I would have got somethig like that hip hammock instead or something more sporty, nylon, etc. Got the sling cause i first thought I could nurse in there too, with baby #2 -which I also never got the hang of, and went back to the bjorn.

Yes Baba slings are really easy to use its not like a longstrip of material that you knot and tie its just a fabric sling that has a clip at the back, and they can be used in many different positions for babies and toddlers.
They cost £40 or £35 new on ebay.

I use a long piece of cloth - about 5-6 yards. I bought it on clearance at $1/yard. Depending on how I tie it, I'll be able to use it as my daughter grows bigger.

See baby wearing websites for more info! The one listed below has directions and videos, as well as contacts in the U.S. and explanations of many kinds of baby slings and carriers.

A baby can be pretty heavy, you might want to upgrade from a sling to a catapult.
