There is not a "logical" answer to this that you are going to like, because legalization of drugs and chemicals is not based upon logic, but what the culture wants and demands. In the early 1900's alcohol was not legal in the USA, when cocaine was used in Coke Cola. So then, cocaine was legal and alcohol was not. Find the logic in THAT. LOL
Alcohol won favor and other chemicals did not. Yes, MJ causes very little social destruction compared to alcohol. Maybe neither should be legal. Maybe both should be legal. The laws will respond to social demand.
Logic or not ... the law is the law.

The government had a bad experience with alcohol - they tried to make it illegal after it was legal and it didn't work out so hot. So, they're really worried about legalizing ANYTHING else because they know once they legalize it, it's all over. They won't be able to back-track if it's a mistake.
Alcohol is probably the WORST thing they could have legalized. It's the worst because it effects every part of the body - the liver, the other organs, the skin, the brain...
Personally, I think all drugs should be legalized. Use the money to pay for drug treatment programs. The jails would be largely empty, we'd have a learning curve (as we've had with alcohol) and then things would even out.

First of all, alcohol does not itself "inspire" anger. It simply lowers your inhibition. For some people they get lovey "I love you man, you're my best friend". Other people "mellow" out. Every person that drinks is different and will react differently. Same with marijuana. Some people get angry when they smoke pot, others mellow out and think they are smarter. BOTH are not good!

You know i think about that question all the time... but i take a good look out the door and i get reminded of the bad ones that make it ugly for the good ones. Like break a law and use marijuana as a excuse to get a break from getting a good time in prison.

Because the government are a load of idiots!!
And alcohol is proven to do much more damage than marajuana does!!!
In Holland it's legal, and there everything is really mellow, and I think the crime rate is pretty low too..
stupid really!

That's the best question in the world! AND, it really sucks cuz we can't do anything about it. I think the d*mn government is just too stuck on it being illegal so they can keep making money off of it. BUT in all honesty they are retarded for letting alcohol be legal, when it's WAY worse than weed.

becuse they belive this schema is true:
marijuana-->other drugs--->heroin--->sudden death.
I dont belive its so simple, but they made it illegal.
