Wow! Just read these articles. Looks like California is ON IT! And Michigan isn't far behind! Looks like New Jersey had to vote on the same type of bill in late 2005 as well.

If you keep digging, google-wise, of course, you will find many articles that are "anti" any such ban by "smoker's rights" groups.

I am not sure about MI but I do know that in Utah they are currently passing the bill and it will be in effect in a couple of months, the bill was written by a 8 year old who wants the rights of children to be heard.
if you are a mother that smokes, look in the back seat and make a right choice.
whether the state has a law or not you should want the best for your kids.

I sure hope so. Next I would like there to be a ban on thumping music in a car when a child is present. Almost got into a fight the other day because I confronted someone for that reason.

I don't know but I wish they had done that when I was a kid. I spent years being "car sick." It wasn't until I was old enough to go places with people who didn't smoke that I realized I was sick from second hand smoke not from being in the car.

Not sure but I hope so!

1. 2nd hand smoke is more dangerous than 1st degree smoke

2. Most smokers in cars drop their butts out on the roads which is illegal in most states, yet they do it anyway which really agitates me...ugh...if you take the time to smoke it in your car, EXTINGUISH it in your car people!

no, they didn't. Common sense should tell you not to smoke in any enclosed space with your kids. I try to not smoke inside my home if the kids are around. They dont need health problems just because I have an addiction. I love my kids more than my cigs.
