My husband and I want to decorate the nursery (boys) with cute animals. All of the nursery "sets" are in jungle animals, ocean, frogs or ducks... we wanted more like cute forest animals (think BAMBI!) with bunnies, and teddy bears, and birds (we are getting a cute bird mobile by fisher price, the "flutter-bye" one) and I just don't know how to find that sort of theme, I've looked everywhere.

To save money buy the bumper pad, bedskirt, etc and then get plain sheets at Target or Walmart....alot easier to bleach if there are stains AND cheaper.
Good Luck! Its very cute bedding....what my friend used with her baby.

We had to make most of our items for the nursery. The bed set we got was more like bugs and frogs, But my son's room is literally a Jungle. We have tons of stuffed real- looking animals, my Dad freehand painted a jungle mural on the big wall and we painted clouds on the other three walls near the top. I made a jungle canopy from a fish net and silk foliage. The curatin rod over the window is a long peice of bamboo and there are monkeys hanging from everywhere. You just need a little inspiration and anything can be made into what you need.

Try Baby Depot. They have lots of themed bedding sets that would go along. You could even try a bug comforter set and add touches of your own. Paint his room a light green, and maybe paint a big tree in one corner. Attach one of those corner toy nets in that corner (see if you can find a green one) so that it looks like the tree branches are holding up the toys. Find some inexpensive plush toys (think beanie babies or small rattles) and hang them over his changing table with fishing line and gold cup hooks. (My son LOVES his) Get a nice rug and curtains that coordinates with your colors. You can sew or hot glue small bugs (cute ones, try a craft store) onto a netting that you hang like a scarf around the windows and curtains (again try a craft or fabric store, they should have a gauzy netting) Finally add small touches as you find them, like a grizzly bear piggy bank on a shelf in the corner, or some lanterns as bookends, and cute pictures on the walls.
IF you liked kinda the camp/forest theme and you are REALLY artsy you could make your own comforter just find a plaid fabric and cut to the appropriate size (2 pieces) and sew them with the outside facing towards the other piece's outside around all the edges but one and than add in your cotton roll batting, and then turn right side out and whip stitch that last side with a clear thread. It would look like a sleeping bag.
You could make it look totally unique and cute without getting the sets. Good Luck!
By the way my son has that mobile in his "jungle" themed room and he loves it!

If you, your husband or anyone else in the family is artsy or crafty get them to help design your idea. That way you get what you want and won't spend a fortune on overpriced stuff from the store.
Try looking through naturalist books, art books (at the library) or the internet for ideas.
It would be a great way to create a personal nursery for your baby no one else would have.

Those aren't really forest animals...They are more like backwoods animals! Like the kind of animals I hunt...... I got a cute set from Walmart that is Cathy Heck Little Pond. It would be cute for a boy or girl (I have a boy) I liked it until now it looks kind of girly! But it is still cute.

Theres a nursery set out there somewhere of bears camping with a red plaid. I really liked it for ours, but went with land of nod monkeys instead (this was 2 years ago). I may poke around my old links and update this later if I find it. You may want to check back, and Ill update this.
