Does it involve Christ or it is just a music term?

Yes, it involves Christ. No, it is not all this preachy Gospel music that you hear in church. Christian music can either be rock, country, R&B, pop, or hip-hop. Some religious bands & artists include Stryper, P.O.D., TobyMac, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Jump5, and DC-Talk.

Christian music is music that has a Christian message. It may speak of Christ directly, or it may simply present Christian messages.

Generally it can involve proclaiming faith or just have Christian morals. Most bands will say that they are Christian because they believe in God and follow the Christian faith.
For example: Skillet, Falling Up, Underoath

Others use Christian morals and can be considered Christian music but they do not consider themselves a Christian band, making them secular.
Example: Evanescence

I work at a Christian radio station. Usually Christian music either has lyrics that are Christian-themed or the band members are all professing Christians and they use their band as a platform to spread Christianity. For example, the band Underoath doesn't really have very obvious Christian lyrics, yet they consider themselves a Christian band because they are all practicing Christians and they talk about their faith in interviews and sometimes at shows..

It is inspired by the Christian faith, sometimes it involves Christ, most of the time it involves strong messages saying that you aren't alone in this world. Some of my favorite bands are below if you would like to listen to them on your ipod if you have one, or on a CD.

Third Day (I call them heavy metal Christian)
DC Talk (Chris Sligh sang a song of theirs on American Idol a few weeks ago)
Newsboys (They originally wrote and sang the song Christmas Shoes)
Rebecca St. James (very vocal about young women and abstinence...great role model)
Avalon
Michael W. Smith (has been around for 20 years + and is still considered one of the best)

Hope that helps, and have fun listening!

depends on what you listen to, their is lots of different types of Christian music out their, worship songs, Christian Pop, Christian Rock and Roll, I think their may also be Christian rap (don't actually listen to that though). And it's 'clean' music, no swearing, no talking about killing people or anything. 99% of the time they will be talking about God and Jesus in some way (usually directly).

It's actually quite refreshing listening to it, instead off all the junk that is out their today.

Christian music is bands that are Christian basically. Most of them sing about Christ and such. But there are some Christian bands that aren't overly Christian sounding such as P.O.D. and Skillet's new stuff. Evanescence used to be Christian but I don't know if they are anymore. Go here to read about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_music. Or just search it on Google.
I've gotta say though most of the overly Christian music is not very good. It's kinda freaky, it's ok to love God and all, but it just creeps me out.

Anything that's insipid and vapid, as it's based on fantasy.
Not to be confused with sacred music by Palestrina, Byrd, Bach, Vivaldi, Verdi, Mozart, Faure or any of the 'great' composers.
