Basically, need to format my C drive to reinstall windows. If i format the C drive, can my computer still read from a CD drive thus allowing me to re-install the OS

Most all newer PCs can do this. Put your cd in and boot up. It should go. If it doesnt, Just make sure your PC bios is set to boot from cd as first boot device.

Yes, the BIOS on current machines will support booting from CD-ROM.

Of course that's on current machines, you may have an older machine that won't boot from the CD. Windows installation CDs contain the necessary drivers for taking it from there.

you have to put os cd in the pc and re booth it picks all it needs from the cd i known you are going to hear a lot of talk about bois and the like----- but, i don't think you have been into the regedit or the bois playing a round----- so run with it put the cd in restart the pc and read ever thing before you push any keys....good luck

yes although you may need to change your bios settings to boot to CD before the hard drive - try it first

Yes. You may need to change the primary boot device to CD-ROM in the BIOS. But you should be ok.
