specifically does country music sell more albums per year than R&B? Also what about fan base?

no r&b sells waaay more....but there is a big fan base for country music 2 :)

The albums that sell the most aren't indicative of what is more popular or bigger.... record companies focus on the markets now that don't have computers and Ipods. Generally, that means there is a big surge in country and hip-hip/r&b because those are the demographics that still buy cds.

Country used to be the next big seller after POP,whatever that is. I would say country sells a lot more than just R&B

no R&b is the 3rd most listened to genre of music in the world.

1.Hip-hop(Rap)
2.Pop/techno
3.r&b
4.Rock/deathmetal/emo
5.Country
6.Gospel/Christian
7.other forms of music.
