We bought it "as is" and did not get a warranty. The dealer wanted to charge us quite a bit for fixing it. Thanks for all the help!

the courtesy light could simply be turned 'off' or have a loose or burnt out bulb. the lens for the courtesy lamp can be pryed off using a small screwdriver. just wrap the end in a paper towel so that you don't scratch the plastic. remove the lens and then you can press on the bulb (it will look like a glass bullet between two brass 'u' shaped terminals) and turn the light on to see if the bulb is loose. That is the usual case. If the bulb is burnt out it will look black inside the glass bulb. if thats the case you'll have to replace the bulb.

the cruise control needs to have the master switch turned on and the car driven over 30 mph (it may be 25 or 35 mph, I'm not sure of the minimum speed) then it is engaged by pressing on the set switch on the steering wheel. The main switch is the one on the left side of the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel and it should say 'cruise' on it. when that switch is 'on' (pressed in) the green cruise lamp on the instrument panel should come on to show that the cruise control system is enabled. Depending on the model, the green light may only be on the main switch and not on the instrument panel. If you don't have the main switch turned on the system won't work. My guess is that you have that switch off and you're just trying to set the cruise using the steering wheel control. If the main switch doesn't light up then its either the switch or power to the switch.
hope that helps

you blew a fuse, pop off the fuse cover and look for either cruise control or lights.
