My first language is German and I am fluent in English and speak some French. The pronunciation in German is very easy in comparison to French for example, but the French grammar is easier. So it depends where your personal strength lies.
But when I first learnt French I failed miserably because it was in school and I didn't really want to do it. When I needed it it was still hard work, but I managed quite well.
So my answer to your question is that the language you REALLY want to learn and have some use for is going to be the easiest language to learn - and far more fun on the way! Enjoy! :)

My first languages were English and Spanish (bilingual home). French was the easiest (I just say everything in Spanish with a French accent--you'd be surprised how well it works!)
I also took Italian, which was quite easy. And also Russian which was hard in the third year (once you get over learning a new alphabet, not too hard) and German (I had a real problem with sentence structure).
These are listed in my order of difficulty from easiest to hardest.

My first language is English. I think Spanish and French are probably the easiest to learn. I just can't figure out why a table is feminine.

My first language is English but I learned German as a child. I think they are both difficult languages for people to learn from scratch

English is my first, French was hard I thought until I tried to learn Polish (the "hidden" romance language).

Probably French, the English language is derived from the latin form. (uh... i think, or something like that)
Anyhow... my first language is English, then Cantonese, Portuguese & French. I'm fluent in all but the last.

First language English...Spanish is easyish but Welsh is so difficult and before anyone asks why learn it.....to save it dying out. If you don't use it you lose it, same applies to everything!!
