At my highschool there are many different groups that you can attribute yourself to. I would have to say it is medium sized and that is way to big to have just one popular group. American schools or atleast my school has a lot of variety in them and yes they're are snobby girls but thats everywhere...not just in highschool, and not just in America. Just because a movie depicts us to be stupid and careless doesn't mean that we are stupid and carless however its are own fault for creating that image. If I wasn't a highschool girl I would probably be thinking the same biased feeling that you are so don't take it personally.

Kids are over taken by pressure too easily. Society these days is cruel... Don't frickin dare to be different... that is not okay anymore... have turned into a gigantic herd of sheeple... it's pathetic that parents allow this to happen... the meanness of these kids is coming from nothing more than insecurity of "not being good enough" on one aspect or another... I am glad that I have been out of school for some years... My kids will be built with strong self esteems and strong wills.... nothing less!

So yeah, its real and it happens everyday, kids are mean, but not because they set out to really be mean, it is just a defense mechanism from being so insecure that they are just mad at everything around them... it really is sad...!

Pretty much just like in the movies.

The American business world isn't much different from that either.

It's what you make of it, and just like anywhere else - there's always a group or some kids that seem to have more privilages. The movie of course exagerated it, but it can exist, not just in America, but everywhere else.

Kind of. The TV show Freaks and Geeks gives a pretty accurate replication of what high school was like for me. You should check it out.

It's like in the movies in some schools. There are other schools that are far worse!

Not generally. Most parents are smart and kind enough to teach their children to respect others Of course, in any group, from school to country club, there are some who others are jealous of and see as being mean and snooty. Me, I'd teach mine to be nice lest they become a "Columbine" style victim of those they victimize.
