Do they place a tube in a persons trachea before a patient leaves the operating room, esecially if a person had a muscle relaxant?

Also can the trachea alter its diameter via the ANS?

It can happen before they leave the operating room, and even before they enter the operating room. It really depends on the operation in question. The trachea does change in diameter, but not enough to change the effect of the tube.
