I have a spider plant that has suddenly sprang to life. It is full and green. My questions are - Do I need to put it in a larger pot? and How do I tell if it is root bound?

if your plant is root bound you will find that when it is watered the water runs through and is not retained in the pot if this is the case you should repot in a pot two sizes larger than the one you are using as to go up one size is difficult and troublesome and you will have to repeat the job much sooner. If you are still unsure shake the plant out of the pot if you seen nothing but roots in a tight mass at the bottom of the plant then you can be sure it needs repotting

if you put it in a larger pot it will likely grow larger and more vigorously. however, it can still remain healthy and vibrant in the pot its currently in. its up to you. you can also cut off the little 'spiders' and plant those, making new plants. youll find the roots at the base of the spiders.
