I have just been put on restricted bandwidth with Tiscali. They claim I use too much bandwidth during peak hours. I used to get between 6 - 8Mb/s download speed. Now I am getting 20kb/s - 150kb/s. My computer is now useless to me. If they dont remove it soon I will have to change ISP. Are there any that you could recommend. Minimum 8Mb download speed and unlimited usage, with no fair usage policy.

You are lucky you have a choice of ISP. We live in an area that has its own Kingston Communications. Because we do not have a BT line we are stuck with KC. As all other ISP require you to have a BT line. It Sucks.

I use ntl (now Virgin Media) they don't limit my download speed (but i think secretly they are limiting my P2P speed, there are ways around this though).

The only problem is that 8mb is their max speed. I find it to be slightly quicker than most though because it doesn't use traditional phone lines.

My sister had the same problem. She has just gone over to Pipex, ideally she says she would use Virgin but they don't offer a service in her area. But Pipex say they don't restrict bandwidth and they offer a decent service, apparently.
