Ihave looked up some stuff on my own, but i want to know what you think...
I had a dream that Chad (my boyfriend) and I were at a hotel...(not in Kentucky oddly enough, but in our home town in Michigan). He was in the room sleeping, I was wandering about the halls. I would stop and chat with people on the way, The coversations I dont remember too well. I walked outside and it seems we were on a mountian(which is strange cause you would think that would mean we were in kentucky, but I really feel we we in MI) because there was a beautiful stair case from the doors leading straight down to the street. On the right side of me there was church benches and a few people sitting on them.

at the bottom of the stairs was the most BEAUTIFUL gathering of clouds. Like they had just fallen out of the sky, only inches above the street. there was a light periwinkle tone to the majority of the clouds and little bright white fluffy clouds above that. I could not believe how beautiful it was.

I wanted to walk down into them but i went to get my camera to take a picture. I turned around to go get it and it was already in my hand, so i turned around to take a picture and there were now many people looking at the clouds. Then the clouds started to deslove and blow away, before i could take the picture. I turned to the lady standing next to me and told her that was the most beautiful thing i had ever seen and was crying slightly, but i felt sooo happy, but a little disapointed because I wanted to walk into them. So I go back inside because I wanted to get back to chad and tell him about it. Plus it seemed like i had been away from him for weeks. As i walked through the door a girl next to me pulled a fire alarm and insisted she ment to do something else it was an accident. I headed back to the room as everyone else went out the doors. I could not use elevators so i had to take the stairs. I needed to be going up but i kept walking down. i stopped at a landing for lack of a bett

He was kinda short, in his late 30`s, not very good looking, and he starts to talk to me. He gave me the creeps. but I could not find my way back to my room. and in the mean time people are evacuating the building and I wanted to get to Chad before he woke up and I wasn`t there. and i was afraid he would find me talking to this strange guy and be mad at me. Somehow I managed to start walking up stairs and then i had the choice to go left or right. I went left but it was the wrong way. I was looking for the door with the 40 on it. all the doors I saw were 30 -37 but when i tried to go back the other way, there was no other way. I never did make it back or find Chad before I woke up. When I did wake up I felt a huge sense of loss. I was just glad he was laying next to me and not gone to the bathroom or something cause i may have panicked.

To understand a dream, it’s helpful to keep in mind why and how we dream. When we sleep, the body and perception systems are shut down, but the brain stem continues to fire and the cortex remains active. The thoughts that have been most active during waking hours—perceptions, experiences, thoughts and feelings, processed consciously or unconsciously—are still “peaked” and they associate with other images already linked in your cortex. In other words, the brain references this content, but not in a rational way, not using input from the external real world as in waking hours. So the story connectedness isn’t like everyday experience, but rather a strange flow from one image to the next. Therefore, dreams aren’t magical messages to guide our life, but sequences of associated images taken from everyday experiences - thoughts and feelings that matter a lot to us during our waking life. So it’s a mistake to apply one-size-fits-all symbols, such as Freudian meanings or standard “dreammoods” formulas. All you need to do is think about what kind of imagery it is and how it relates to your daily life.

The images in this dream are about seeking highly desirable things, but then along the way, failing in the attempt. My guess is that you have good goals in your life, but they are challenging and it's hard to keep up with what you have to do and you fear you'll leave something undone, make a mistake or come up short. This kind of thing may have happened to you before in real life. So this anxiety was at work - consciously or unconsciously - when you went to sleep and it affected your dream imagery.

How long have you and Chad been together? Are you maybe feeling that it's time to "make it official" and get married? Has he ever said that he would be against this?
