You mean a paralell universe - well put it this way, until someone can conclusively prove that something doesn't exist then i am willing to keep an open mind

With all the billions and billions of stars in this universe, and quite a lot of them with planets revolving around them, the chance for a planet rather similar to earth that is capable of harbouring life as we know it is not very small. However, the chance that evolution there went the same as it did here, giving rise to a species we know as homo sapiens sapiens, or mankind, is a lot smaller. And the chance that even if on some distant planet a race similar to ours, or even the same as ours, has evolved they could be the double of someone here is just so utterly small that I don't think that that is true. I mean, think of how tremendously many people have lived on earth, and still none could be called "doubles" (even "identical twins" are different!) And besides that, how would you exactly define a "double"? He or she CANNOT be EXACTLY the same as you, since otherwise he IS you - there will always be a difference of location in space-time.
There remains the notion of a "parallel world" where there indeed is a person exactly the same as you, with the same location in space-time, but to me those questions are pointless since there is no way of gaining any information about the existence or non-existence of such a world.

There are trillions of planets in our universe. Without doubt, some of them have other civilizations on them. The inhabitants would be 'actual people', but there would be no reason for there to be a 'double' of anyone here on THIS planet.

Do you realize that in your second sentence you used the word 'like' 4 times? Do you talk like that in real life?

If the universe truly does go on forever, or even if it goes on for as long as we can measure, the chances that there is no other life in this universe is astronomical. However, it is possible that we could be the first world with people inhabiting. Everything is luck and chance until we obtain the scientific knowledge to prove otherwise.

No. I don't think that there is another world, as in duplicates of ourselves living bilaterally from us.

It's theory that there could be different dimensions, it's like time captures a certain event and spins off into "what could have happened if..." scenarios.

Or there could be multiple worlds upon our own existing at the same time but in different dimensions. Like my house right now could be a bakery in another dimensions with 13 employees and my computer is really the oven, but I can't see them and they can't see me and we totally exist at the same time but doing things that do not impede in each other's exitense.

OR

It's pausible that there are other worlds in our galaxy with human beings living on other planets...extraterrestial and other creatures

But I don't believe that there could be doubles existing...although with the things I've just thought about, it doesn't seem too far fetched.

YES!! i totally think the possibility of other 'worlds' exists. Like the book 'timeline' only, i think that every decision you take can have ten million different outcomes and so those 10 million different outcomes turn into worlds. also sort of like the 'his dark materials trilogy'. (i'm totally influenced by books), but mostly i believe this because it is hard for me to think about the infinitness of space. it has to end/start somewhere? and i dont think that out of the millions and billions of galaxies... we are the only one. it's abusrd. but well, i dont think i'll ever really know the truth.. sadly :(

yes but in another galaxy that hasnt been discovered. remember that space never ends and no one has actually explored it far enough to say that there is no other planet with life on it. you never know. maybe one day scientists will produce a machine that can search that far, or this other planet will produce one and come to discover us. anything is possible...

I don't think there are any "actual people" on this world.

its obvious.you would have to be very small minded to think we are the only ones in the universe.i doubt very much if their like us.they would be far more intelligent.?
