It's possible to overclock your system... but I wouldn't recommend it. For one, if you don't understand what you're doing, you could render your system totally useless. For two, you're putting faith in Dell's not using cheap components or cutting corners with your computer build. While I have nothing against Dell, the fact remains that you have no idea how good your RAM is (all RAM is NOT created equal!!!) or even if your processor is "reduced specification," meaning the speed it's running at is pretty much the only speed it is capible of. Let's not forget that overclocking will also void any warantee Dell gave you when you bought your system.

What I would do in your position is to consider upgrading your RAM (especially if you're running Vista--it's a bit greedy for system memory), and clean out unneeded files (the more cluttered your system, the slower it'll function). Defragment your hard drive on a regular basis, as well. If you notice a lot of stutter while playing games, consider a new video card (most computer builds keep the price down by using the motherboard's on-board video, which can't hold a candle to a decent video card). If you're having specific problems, you'll do good to contact Dell directly and make use of their customer support, which will likely steer you in the right direction since they'll be familiar with your computer build.

Most Dells use a stripped down version of the BIOS software. 99% of the time they do not have any options within the BIOS for changing system settings such as Clockspeed.

So overclocking is really not an option with your current system.

The only thing you can really do is buy a new processor or upgrade your ram.

I would suggest a minimum of 2Gigs of ram for a Vista system.

Looking at the system specs, it is tough to tell how much faster you could go. We do not know the actual speed of the processor on your system because the e521 covered a broad range of configurations.

If you told us what processor you had, we could suggest a few options for you. To find this, right-click on "my computer" and go to "properties". Or go to your control panel and click on the "system" icon.

From there, it will list the processor you have installed on the computer. That would give us what we need to make a real suggestion.

We would also like to know what video adapter you had installed since you want to play EverCrack.

hi -- A gadget designed around the AMD processor is only as reliable as one designed around the Intel processor. it really is called a Ford vs. Chevy argument! There are human beings accessible who opt for the AMD chip instruments over the Intel and visa versa. that is an argument techies bask in and has little or no intending to an end consumer. If the gadget is doing its pastime properly who cares no matter if it has an Intel, AMD, Motorola, or chinese scam chip in it?? best of success, bill

You can purchase a new one, or "overclock" your existing one. You need to understand overclocking before attempting it.
