i see people doing this sometimes can anyone tell me how?

AOL mail allows you to pick a domain name for free. Some of the more common domain names are owned by various email services that let you choose one. With AOL you get the entire domain.

Sadly most people pay for a browser name which cost a couple of dollars a month to use. You should look around google.
You can also set up Microsoft Outlook to perform this task with enough knowledge. Sadly I have limited experience with Outlook and can not assist any further.
