I'm doing a project on the waves of Feminism.

I have 3 Barbie dolls to represent kindof the "head women" of First, Second, and Third wave feminism.

I have ideas in my head, but I would like to know who you all out there might think I could choose, and for which wave.

Thankyou very much:)

i just used regular dollar store dolls. they didn't have to be perfectly like the women. they even all have the same thing on.

First: Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucy Stone. Their main issue: Voting rights.

Second: Betty Friedan, Simone de Beauvoir, Gloria Steinem. Their main issues: Employment, pay equity, and education.

Third: Naomi Wolf, Linda Hirshman, Laura Kipnis. Their main issues: Sexual exploitation and abortion rights.

You might want to mention the irony of using Barbie dolls in a project about feminism.

Waaaaaaaait. Isn't this the project I advised you to do? I'm proud of myself now.

You'd need to cut the barbies hair off and pack clay or plasticine around their torsoes to adequately represent feminists for a start..

Suggested names:

1-Debbie: Carries a 'we want equality' sign, but cannot pronounce the word equality, when discussing if women should be forced into the draft.

2- Jennifer: Carries a 'we want equality' sign, but refuses to discuss why it is that women never select harardous jobs like oil rig worker or garbage collector.

3- Carrie: Carries a 'we want equality' sign, but marches on the Justice Dept. when judges start to award fathers custody.

In all case, the girls' last name is "Crybaby".

This pretty well sums up three generation of feminists.

You can show how women have lost their sex appeal over the ages and have turned into roaming blobs of fat with attitudes...
