The Andromeda Galaxy at 250,000 light years diameter is approximately twice the size of the Milky Way Galaxy at 100,000 light years diameter. Both galaxies are moving toward each other and in about 3 billion years we will collide.

Twizzard's correct, in all respects. The Andromeda galaxy has about twice the mass we do also - meaning, twice the amount of stars.

they're not absolutely sure about that one yet. andromeda is usually considered to be the bigger one, but they keep finding things in our own galaxy that suggest that it might be bigger. either way they are pretty close, and both are substantially bigger than triangulum.
