I have a 1999 Audi A4 and with a set of limited rims. The rims are 5 lug universal pattern and the car has a 5 lug pattern. The pattern is slightly off however, and when i go to put the rims on the car i turn one lug nut and the opposite side lug nut is nearly impossible to tighten because the Key doesnt fit in the slot? Is there a way to put them on?

The B5 A4 you have has a 5x112 bolt pattern. Check the inside of the rim... it should be embossed somewhere on the inside. If you're mounting a 5x100 it won't fit. In fact if it's anything but a 5x112, it's not going to work. Universal 5 bolt pattern is usually 5x100 and 5x114.3. 5x112 bolt patterns are considerably more rare and are most commonly used on Audi/VWs and Mercedes.

The other measurement you need to look out for is the offset. You'll need to make sure they fit properly so there is enough clearance inside the rim to accommodate the brakes.

I wouldn't recommend modifying your wheels to make them fit... your best bet is to return/sell them and get a different set. Good luck!

Nope. The lugs must match the lug nut holes that are drilled in the rims. If you try to force the rims on, you'll create an imbalance due to the wheel being out of round; the same applies to re-drilling the wheel. If you were to try to elongate the holes, you'd create the same situation. The only thing you can do is try to sell the rims to someone who can use them, or just throw them away, and get a set of wheels with the correct spacing.
