Because they can't deal with their inadequacies. They believe the world revolves around them and we should all pay homage to them.
They also could be deeply depressed because they know that rejection is what they will get everytime if they can't control their emotions and their vindictive attitudes.

Because some guys have such incredible egos that they can't imagine a girl not liking them! They see rejection as an insult to everything that they are, and it heightens their underlying insecurities that their ego tries to bury. And some guys are just psychos.
