derby covers are located on the sides of motorcycle engines...some cover the clutch mechanism some over the points or electronic ignition . if you broke one which I think you have it is the clutch cover...did oil come out?

it goes on a derby { silly }
its the big round cover on the left side of a harley engine, it coveres the clutch and primary chain. X
