I mean this in the nicest possible way... but if this is the worst you've ever seen, then you need to get out more. There are some wacky philosophies out there that won't fly even in here. Boggles the mind, I know.

Everybody? My, my, you do make generalizations, don't you?

As you obviously have made up your mind to the answer, why did you bother to ask? Was it some deep inferiority complex expressing itself as an attempt to make fun of others?

What I would have answered was, as this is an open board that anyone can respond to, you are going to get a wide spectrum of respondents. There will be the worst but there are also very erudite people here who are more than capable philosophers. So, again, any such sweeping statement as you make, including everyone, must, by its very content be invalid. There are bad and good. The really good are the ones who can differentiate. Can you?

Laugh away mr. q because when you look for the worst philosophers you will find them in the likes of the Nazi Party, Satanic cults, and the pagan rites of the tree huggers.
Looking at a lot of the philosophy on this forum you will find great ideas that does encompass Love, morals, the well being of others, and unselfish attitudes.
Of course there are the Machiavellians, and cults of the Sadists here as well, but they are in the minority.
Have a good laugh q.

A bad philosopher is one who makes sweeping generalizations and attacks people instead of the validity of their arguments.

I read somewhere on yahoo answers the following: "him [Berkley] and hume both were horrible and needlessely complicated things" This was shortly after the comment that Berkley was a 'moron.'

Yes...yahoo answers has some of the worst philosophers ever. Any decent logic student can say that this does not imply that yahoo answers is therefore limited to only bad philosophers.

I consider myself something of a philosopher and am having such a great time answering some of these questions and a few laughs too. I just got here today, so after I have been around here for a while maybe you will change your mind.

It would hardly be fair to say that every philosopher on this forum is among the worst ever. Many of the philosophers here would do well to study introductory level logic, but apart from that, I see no overwhelming reason to think quite so little of them. I am no perfect philosopher, nor are you, but we each have something worthwhile to contribute.

This is an open internet forum. If you feel that your intellectual superiority renders you above the menial task of enduring the questions and answers presented on this forum, I suggest you limit your philosophical discourse to the university classroom.

*laughs*

you know....philosophers cannot be compared. one who thinks laterally is a philosopher. And lateral thinking is never the same and is sometimes weird. so diff ppl have diff philosophies. like your philosophy is that YA! has the worst philosophers but my philosophy says that it doesn't because philosophers are just philosophers and no philosophy can alter that.
:P :P

he he.. :)

worst? No. Perhaps they are all armatures, but how else do you hone your thinking but by practicing. I would have to say you are the worst for trying to stunt the thought of so many.

You're obviously much too good to be here. When is your book coming out, where you solve the riddles of human existance?
