I recently uninstalled the Vista Transformation pack from www.windowsxlive.net. As soon as i restarted my computer after uninstallation I found that I could on longer use programs like Firefox, iTunes and Windows live Messenger by double clicking on them, so I had to right click and click open to open the files. I decided that there was obviously something wrong so I tried to use System Restore which under Start>All Programs, but this didn't work and so I had to do the same thing right click and click open for the application to start. The system restore didn't change anything so I don't know what to do, I need help. Can anyone help me?

Try this:

Open a command prompt (click Start > Run and type cmd. Click OK).
Enter the following text:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

Close the Command prompt and try double-clicking.

i had a similar thing like this happen where i had to do what you are doing. i have no idea why it happened. it got really crazy. everything i went to click got highlighted with everything else around it. how i fixed this was i deleted the mouse and keyboard from the system properties. this got rid of all drivers for them. when you delete which ever first, it will say to restart the system. don't. delete both things before you reboot. after both are deleted and you reboot the system, when it comes back up it will reload the drivers for both and everything will go back to normal....also when you delete the keyboard and mouse, you still have full function of the mouse and keyboard .

You should be asking this question at the help option of the Microsoft website instead of here on Yahoo!Questions and Answers.

Check your mouse setting in the control panel.
