It's like an English degree, you need to specialize it with additional schooling/certification. I bet you could call your college counselor (even though you graduated a few years ago) and talk to them about what kind of positions are out there and how you can narrow it down.
I have an English degree and supplemented it with a certification in technical writing (one year of evening classes at my local community college). That led me to getting an internship in a government job. Once I had my foot in the door I was hired as a permanent employee. I worked there for five years. It was a wonderful job and really got me on a good career track.
What originally drew you to Sociology? Are you interested in humanitarian efforts like social work? Or maybe you are into a CSI-type thing?
Here's a link to a book called "Great Jobs for Sociology Majors":

Hi, same problem here. Except i couldn't get a job, not even as a secretary. See, I don't know what country you are, but i'm in Lebanon, and in here, the jobs regarding sociology are: 95% Teaching, 5% whatever your relatives who are in high positions can get you. Example: a friend of mine, her father was a president of a bank... see where it's getting!! she works now in a bank. Not any bank, the ofiicial one... :( Don't get me wrong, i'm happy for her... But i keep wondering what kind of jobs did my old man get me!!!
None.... So i posted a question here and this is the link to what i got: http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah1dd61z01pXwvhJnRx7bbLBFQx.?qid=20070320105121AAiSuwN
Although i only got two answers.. One was sufficient... Hope it would help....
Plus, the vice president of the electricity company here has a diploma in sociology, she mentioned to me (when i met her accidently) that i shouldn't regret the degree i have, cause sooner or later, it DOES do me good in life, and without it she wouldn't have got to the position that she has now.
Good Luck

If preparation and well being care are what's in call for as we communicate, won't be able to you employ sociology for company consultation, "motivating", counseling, social artwork, preparation, emotional treatment or mediation? What about including crime, adolescent progression or ageing on your information?

Why did you major in Sociology if you didn't know what kind of jobs you could get with that kind of a degree? Maybe try some kind of social work with kids, or juveniles.

Shouldn't you have thought about this before spending money and years in school? What were your original intentions? Follow the dreams you began with.
