I am working on a live assignment. Can anyone tell me:
1. If Oracle has to venture into a new business apart from the usual databse, middleware or ERP business what can be that new venture?

2. If Oracle has to acquire another company which will give it a very good ROI whom will it acquire and why?

3. In which new field can Oracle give Microsoft a new challenge? (Apart from databases and application servers)?

Please help, its urgent.

As far as the ERP industry, the 4 largest are SAP, Oracle, Infor, and Microsoft. Of these 4, Oracle has the least penetration into the mid-sized and small business market. I expect that one acquisition that Oracle might consider would be to buy out a significant player to fill this void. Possibilities include Epicor and Sage Software.

Oracle is already into the networking business, competing against Microsoft and Novell.
