Liberals ARE socialists. They just don't want to be called one by name. - Make everything "fair" (except when it goes against them) and redistribute the wealth as they see fit, so that they can keep their same victims in need of them, as they have for years, and thus keep their power !

I bet this questions title almost killed several liberals, that is - "putting Bush hate aside for a moment" !!! - It's okay - you can breathe now and go back to your deep and fulfilling hatred of a man, - you loving and peaceful people.

You know, I don't think it's necessary to call things by inflammatory names in order to get a heated exchange going. It doesn't lead to a constructive dialog or to problem-solving, and I think our country needs both, especially now.

Instead of generalizing an entire agenda as "socialism," why not break it down and post a question that might lead to some good discussion? For instance, why not ask: Hey, Democrats, have you considered that [specific policy that you think is in the Democratic agenda] could take our country towards socialism? If you have considered it, what are your thoughts and/or does socialism scare you?

How exactly is asking for governmental protection against corporate abuses on workers, consumers, and environment standards socialist?

Do you really want conservatives to undo all of the progress made by liberals in our country? Because then women wouldn't get to vote, blacks would still be enslaved, and children would be working in pollution factories.

EDIT: Did George G just call Democrats "war profiteers"?! ROFLMAO at the nerve of that guy.

Socialism competes with Capitalism, not Democracy.. so what is the worry.. yes an extreme socialistic society would be bad.. but so is an extreme capitalistic society... there is nothing wrong with using a Democratic Republic the way it is meant to be used.. to find a balance that works.

Okay...all hatred aside, I will answer that yes - I am aware that there are some moderately socialist plans within the democratic party. But, I ask you...all lib hating aside...can you give me some sound justification for being so anti-socialist? There are many, many capitalist countries in the world that support moderate social programs...and thrive very nicely. What is the big fear attached to helping your countrymen when they need it?

No, but I do know that you have been brainwashed by the right wing media.

Nobody supports a pure socialist agenda except for a few nutcases.

The Democratic Party Political Agenda is purely about money and kickbacks. They use their current party just to finance themselves and their supporters. I think they are different from pure socialism because they are just war profiteers and they only try to control where Americans money will go.

The only socialist idea I have heard is nationalized health care....do conservatives not know that the Medicare part D program insituted by Mr. Bush to provide drug coverage to seniors, is also a socialist program? Parts of every country are socialist, or our people would suffer. It is better to mix ideologies and take care of our people than to stick to one ideology at the expense of Americans. Why is that people that complain about programs to help Americans are thrilled that we have sent 500 billion over to Iraq to help non-Americans?

Real Americans believe that Government must promote social consciousness, A society is only as strong as it's weakest link.

I don't know if they realize. If they do, they ignore it, and change the subject.

I have asked many times for someone to give me an example of a democrat policy, which is not a socialist idea. I have yet to hear one.
