It is very doubtfull that an public employee, in this case the mayor of the city can succesfully use the religious beliefs argument to oppose the parade?

Attention everybody on YA!
Please be advised that Fearless (which is a misnomer if ever there was one) is being dishonest.
The city of Toronto has had a Gay Pride Parade for close to 20years and has never been sued or threatened with a lawsuit. Further, the city of Toronto benefits greatly from the Pride celebrations as it brings in approx. 4 to 6 million tourist dollars to the city of the week long festival.
Finally, on the matter of other cities being taken to court, this is true in so much as the suits were brought against cities who allowed other festivals but not the Pride festivals. Further, those cities used religious arguments against allowing them, which, if Fearless knew what he was talking about, are contrary to the constitutional guarantees in the Charter of Rights (Canada's version fo the bill of rights) in regards to religious freedoms. In a secular society, which is supposed to acknowledge and serve all people, not just Christians, religious intolerance cannot and should not be permitted to influence other citizens rights and freedoms.
Edit: Oh fearless, what am I to do with you. You brought up Toronto so obviously you implied a lawsuit. Secondly both the mayor of London and Kingston (at the time) did use Christian beliefs as the cornerstone of their arguments against it. Smarten up. Learn English, and please, if you must try to make these statements at least be accurate, coherent and intelligent.
Edit # 2: Wow, I'm now the spokes...... for the gay mafia, oooooh, did I hit a nerve sweets. It must really burn you that you don't scare us anymore.

I really wish that all of the people who come in here asking thinly veiled anti-gay questions would develop some eloquence. Grammar is a very important thing. Having the ability to convey your words so that people can understand them is vital to the communication process. Isn't English Composition a fairly easy class to get into? Even most basic low level community colleges offer it for cheap. I think it would be a lot easier to accept all these stupid questions if they could be put together in a grammatically correct, well thought out manner. But then, if these people were educated, maybe they wouldn't be here at all... Also- COME ON! There is a spell check button right up there!

I'm straight, but who cares if they have a parade?? If they make a spectacle of themselves it only looks bad on them.
They have the right to parade, this is Canada!!
Edit: He did say the Province of Ontario..and it's not that hard to read. The question is quite simple, I don't believe the suggestion of a grammar class has any correlation to the answering of this question.

No, you never said Toronto was sued, but in JD's defense, the QUESTION ITSELF mentions Toronto. If you WEREN'T talking about Toronto, why even mention Toronto. It was your badly worded question, not JD's confusion, that lead to his explanation. And since then he HAS explained sufficiently why you seem to misunderstand the issue here! It is CLEARLY against Canadian law, so why SHOULDN'T the cities/mayor be sued!

Thanks for joining us in the fight against LGBT bigotry, hatred and prejudice!
Yes, you are right, people who claim to be "christian" and then spew such hatred really are hypocrites. Some are even liars.
Of course I agree that God makes people LGBT or straight, and both are just variations of sexual orientation, neither being more "right" or "moral" than the other. Yes, we are agreed that sexual orientation does not change over time, is not a "choice," and does not need to be "cured."
Which PFLAG chapter do you belong to?

Of course Toronto wants it. Do you have any idea of how much revenue it generates for the city?

I think, looking at your answers history, that the bigger question might be "why are you so obsessed with gay people?". I mean, I'm not gay, but it's no big hurt to me if people are. Doesn't matter one bit. So why are your panties in such a bunch over it?
