My friend thinks she may have just had a miscarriage yesterday because she had a positive hpt and is now having heavy bleeding. She isn't currently on Medicaid, but is on the Medicaid Family Planning Waiver, covers birth control and yearly pap, and she hasn't gotten in to see an OB yet. She just took the test 2 days ago. If she goes to the hospital to get checked out and it turns out she did have a miscarrage or is having one, will Medicaid cover the procedures or whatever she may need? She only works part-time and can't afford a medical bill.

They should. If all else fails tell her to contact medicaid and speak with them. If they will cover to have gastric bypasses done then I would say they should cover her needs.

I doubt they will pay since she isn't actually on Medicaid's plan. It does sound as if she had a miscarriage, though. Is there a clinic near by that does a sliding scale fee? Or maybe the Health Dept. I would definitely try one of those. Tell her good luck!!
