I've heard that there are ways to obtain a quick divorce. The state I live in requires a year separation and it takes another year for the final decree. I want this man out of my life and 2 years isn't soon enough! Is there any truth to the rumors I'm hearing about there being ways of obtaining a quicker divorce?

I live in CT and I did a divorce on my own (Pro Se Divorce) No lawyers and no high fees. I paid $225 for court fees and $90 to have the bastard served out of state!! Once you file the papers you get a court date 90 days later and are divorced on that day. It doesnt matter if he shows or not. It was cool, quick and I enjoyed every minute of it. Contact your local family clerks office at the court house and inquiry. G'luck!

There is no quick way to circumvent the state laws. I would just pay a lawyer or service to handle all the paper work and stuff. As long as there are no property issues. If you move out of the state no other marriage will still be legal till your divorce is final. If you are not planning on getting remarried then there is no problem, as long as all the filings are done then you won't have ever see him again. If he does not sign or show up to court then there will be a default judgement anyway.
What state are you in? States only have a 6 month waiting period before final paperwork is signed.

If this have been one hundred years in the past, divorce would not have been the respond. the guy would have in simple terms left (mine gold, railroad). no person ever discusses this, although that's truly properly documented. by using out historic previous, there are a number of histories on adult males in simple terms leaving. Divorce in that is contemporary type is extremely new, from a employer end of issues. there is finished industry outfitted around divorce so some distance as human nature is worried, that's uncommon that couples final in spite of the latest superficial factors (ring, church, park, dinner, despite) or temporal placement. it is going to be understood that some anybody is in simple terms on no account going to make a sturdy husband or spouse or companion no remember how many cousilling sessions visited. i'd say ninety 5% of the human inhabitants ought to by no ability get married. IF people want infants, have a baby, shield help yet realistically there is not any want for the moms and dads to stay at the same time. see you later by way of fact the youngster has the two people who's fantastic.

You could lie if you can live with yourself....but he would have to lie too. I know a couple that were separated for 3 months, but claimed they had separated the year before. They had to provide a witness that confirmed their story.....it was her twin sister. Their divorce was final after only 3 months of separation. I'm not telling you to lie...but it is an option if all parties feel the same way.

Different states have different laws...
Check the internet for various state laws..
I believe you can get an overnight divorce in Mexico..
In Texas, you must be a resident for 6 months, you can
get a divorce in about 10 - 12 wks....No separation required..

Usually if it's going to be an uncontested divorce the State will go around the 18mos or whatever the time frame is. Might cost a few bucks more but I'm sure it will worth it to you.

What does he want?

Many states allow you to waive the times to wait if you mutually waive it. So if you live in such a state and he is willing to waive the waiting period, you could be divorced much sooner.

Otherwise, you either have to move somewhere that doesn't have the waiting period and / or convince him it's in his best interest to waive the waiting period.

If he doesn't want the divorce, it's unlikely you can speed it along.
