I think Prices in Montana are 1.89 or so a gallon and here we are paying 3.13 a gallon. I wish we (americans) had the power to join together and not buy gas for 2 days straight. ALL OF US! We would send a huge message of how we control what happens to us here in america. I hate the fact that oil companys are making 45-50 billion dollars in pure profit every 3 months and we are letting them do it. WHY?

Sweetie where I live gas is $3.28 and has been up to $3.98 within the last year. One of the major gas corps. gets 40% of their annual profit from my state alone. I'm totally getting ripped off!

I think we could try and plan a nationwide boycott for a couple of days. But this isn't a small country. People in America are way to brain washed into trading up and buying the latest and greatest.

In Jamaica some time in the late '90s they REALLY did boy-cot some people even died. but the gas prices did come down after that.

It's so expensive because people are willing to pay for it. I hate to stereotype (I'm a 3rd generation Californian), but there are a lot of conspicuous consumers in Calif., not to mention hypocritical environmentalists tooling around in their SUVs and drinking lots of water out of plastic bottles and lattes out of paper cups. People are willing to pay whatever is required as long as they gratify what they perceive to be their needs.

Ask what are the taxes on gallon of gas:
18.4 cents/ gallon fed tax
18.0 cents/ gallon state tax
~25.0 cents/gallon sales tax
Total 61.6 total tax

Also you have to pay for the cocktail formulas that California demands.

Yes, our President is pushing the American middle class down the big dark hole of poverty. Suppose it would be out of line for me to ask you to pick me up at the airport? Dang, I am having a hard time finding someone to come get me....

Cowass gas is different than petroleum. MT has lots of cows, CA has lots of cars.
