Very possible - often times the HCG levels are not high enough to register on a home test (which is why you have to wait longer and re test if you really suspect pregnancy) a doctor can verify with a simple test that you are pregnant even if you did get a negative at home.
However if you are referring to the other way around, very RARELY, almost NEVER do you get a positive at home and really are not pregnant.
Best wishes!!

Actually, I took 2 First Response tests and they both came out negative, so I waited 2 weeks later and took 1 test from The Dollar Tree and it came out to be positive. So yes, some tests can be wrong.

First of all, there can be false negatives, but there are NO false positives. If you get a negative, it could be that your pregnancy hormone is just not very detectable by the test, so, if that worries you, just try again in 3 or 4 days. :o)

one thing everyone on here needs to understand is that a negative result due to "testing too early" is NOT a wrong answer..... u simply just do not have enuf HCG in your urine and u tested too early.... that is what a pregnancy test IS... a detection of the pregnancy hormone... so just b/c it doesn't read positive does not mean it is wrong or that u r not preg..... on the flip side, positives are NEVER, and i mean NEVER wrong... if u get a line no matter how lite, u r preg... the only thing that can trigger it to turn is the preg hormone

home pregnancy test are usually never wrong. although they can be, I never had a false one. I did have one that was negative and then did another a day or 2 later cuz I hadn't gotten my monthly friend, and then it was positive. You might want to wait a day or so and do another on. have you gone to the doctor yet??

they aren't too wrong anymore.
in fact, many dr offices will wait to test you if you've tested positive on a home test b/c they are pretty much the same as a urine test they would give you.
now, the sure bet is a blood test, which is usually done, but many moms, after the first baby, will just go by the home test b/c they are really pretty accurate.

yes it can happen if you test to soon or not with morning urine. make sure you've missed your period and use morning urine ans always follow the directions on the test to ensure you get the correct result.

less than 1% of the time, unless you take it too early, then the percentage goes up. but there are no false positives, if it says you're pregnant, you are!
