In Microsoft Word: Go to View, the Header and Footer. There should then be two text-box looking things that you can type in, plus a menu box. Go and click in the Footer (bottom of the page), and then select "Auto Text (or something like that), then click Page X of Y. That will put in what you want throughout the paper. Click close in the floating toolbar.

Assuming you're using MS Word of some variety go into the 'View ' Menu and then select 'Header and Footer'. In the footer box click Autotext and select 'Page X of Y'. This will give you the numbers the way you want them.
