Hi Charlie, there are some classic british comedies on uktv gold weeknights on at the moment like, the catherine tate show, the royle family, last orders and there are shows like phoenix nights and alan partridge which is on from time to time. Happy viewing!

a lot of British comedy can be found on BBC2 in the evenings or if you can pick up digital BBC3 most evenings or if you prefer we have comedy clubs scattered around the country
also look at the BBC website under comedy.

Absolute classics are "Porridge" and "Yes Minister"/"Yes Prime Minister".
Other good ones are Fawlty Towers, 3 of a kind (Lenny Henry, Tracy Ullman), The Goodies, GimmeGimmeGimme, the first couple of series of My Family, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Shameless.

Check out Red Dwarf, the best thing to come out of England since Oliver Cromwell.

You can get it on DVD in the States in most stores.

Alan Partridge is very funny, Little Britain, Phoenix Nights. Don't know how well they translate across the Atlantic though!!!

It depends on your taste, these are my top four.
1)Extras: It appears on HBO, unsure if it just British cast or their show.
2)The Office, British version. Equally as funny, but original.
3)(as above) Ab Fab. Hilarious of all time.
4)French and Saunders. Writers of the above, and very absurd.
